Kashmir valley is famous for its beautiful mountains, landscapes and holy shrines. But the situation is not yet ideal in the region. The youth in j&k have found solace in sports in a bid to escape all that has affected them and their families over the years. We have seen many from valley making name and fame for in sports.

Born in Dangerpora Ganderbal Mohd Asif a talented volleyball player has started his journey from a government school when he was in class 8th, he got selected for district level tournament and in class 9th he was selected for state-level competition. In class 10th he got selected again for the state but missed the national game then

"I decided to work hard and had a dream to play for j&k volleyball team, which i did and got selected for the national team but due to poor financial background i could not manage and again in class 12th I played for the national team that day my dream came true".

Asif know for his volleyball skills and national background, He continues to participate in local tournaments.

Asif  had won 10 gold, 5 silver medals and played 2 national, 5 state matches besides number of district tournament certificates. 

Being a student and from the poor background he had always limitations to play and he is struggling hard to earn a living. Meanwhile, the jk administration has miserable ignored sports professional across j&k as the government is not providing any support for these young talented persons. There is a need of support in the hour of pandemic. Government should organise big tournaments and help them financially so that they will continue there game and fame.
