Applications are open for the Latvian Government Scholarships for the academic year 2022. The State Education Development Agency (SEDA) offers scholarships, with the subordination of the ministry of education and science; the State Education Development Agency SEDA, VIAA in Latvia, is the direct administration institution.

Scholarships are offered to pursue undergraduate, master and doctorate degree programs in Latvia. Students who want to study in the current year or 2023 intake are encouraged to apply. Latvian government scholarships are specially offered for students of such countries who have an agreement with the Latvian government. The medium of teaching is Latvian. However, some programs are also offered in English, so do not worry.

  1. The programs are offered in both Latvian and English so, the student must be able to have proficiency in one of the languages.
  2. Applicants from countries that have signed an agreement with Latvia can only apply.
  3. This scholarship is only available for those citizens from countries that offer the scholarship to Latvian students.
  4. Bachelor’s students must have completed a year of study of the degree program.
  5. Applicants must have an outstanding academic record.

Here are the benefits of Latvian government scholarships:

  1. Stipends worth up to 500 EUR is given to the students for master’s and bachelor’s program.
  2. It can be used for meal and accommodation students and cover the tuition fee if required.
  3. 700 EUR is provided on a monthly basis as a stipend for Ph.D. scholarship holders

  7. Letter of recommendation, signed within last six months from 2 staff members.
