The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology is currently accepting online applications for the Fall 2024 intake. The GIST Scholarship 2024 is available for Masters, Master Leading to Ph.D., and Doctoral Degree programs. Applicants from all over the world may apply. GIST is a prominent university located in Gwangju, South Korea. It was ranked first in Korea for startup performance and entrepreneurship in 2023 and is one of the world's top 100 colleges. The fall intake will begin in September 2024.

All international students are eligible for the GIST Scholarship without having to submit a separate application. Tuition fees, meals, lodging, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and airline tickets are all included in the scholarship. GIST University does not charge an application fee. English is the main language of instruction. More details regarding the GIST University Scholarship 2024 are given below.

Degree Programs and Durations:
Master of Science (M.S.) - 2 years Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) - 4 years Integrated M.S./Ph.D. program.

Financial Benefits:
GIST University offers "GIST Scholarships" to international students. The scholarship covers the following:
  1. Full Tuition Fee Supported.
  2. Monthly stipends for all international students.
  3. Stipend for students who participate in research initiatives.
  4. Housing (All students)
  5. 60% health insurance (for all international students).
  6. Annual medical checkup.
  7. Flight reimbursement (for all incoming international students)
Exemption for English Language Test Proficiency:
  1. All courses at GIST University are taught in English. You can apply without taking the English language test. If you have been chosen, you must submit your test results later.
  2. If you earned your bachelor's degree in an English-speaking nation (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States), you can apply to GIST without an English Proficiency Test score.
  3. Aside from that, all applicants must provide an official English proficiency test score, such as TOEFL (IBT, PBT), IELTS, TOEIC, or TEPS.
  4. TOEFL: iBT 80; PBT 550.
  5. IELTS: 6.5, TOEIC: 750.
  6. NEW TEPS: 285
  7. The GIST University strongly advises you to achieve the English exam score because the Korean Immigration Service may need an English or Korean test score for a VISA application.
Eligibility criteria:
  1. Applicants from any country may apply.
  2. An candidate must hold a bachelor's degree that is comparable to a Korean bachelor's degree.
  3. Every paperwork must be supplied.
  4. Please read the FAQ.
Required Documents:
  1. Official degrees and transcripts are necessary, however notarized copies are allowed.
  2. Two letters of recommendation must be signed and stamped by the recommenders.
  3. The recommenders are not required to send the letters independently or individually.
  4. Official English language test report.
  5. A photocopy of the applicant's passport is required.
