The applications are now open for the GKS Korean Government Undergraduate Scholarship 2026. The Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U) is a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue their studies in South Korea. Embassy Track vs. University Track

The GKS-U offers two application tracks:

  • Embassy Track: You submit your application through the Korean Embassy in your home country. If shortlisted, your documents will be forwarded to the universities in South Korea.

  • University Track: You apply directly to a participating Korean university. If accepted, your name will be nominated for the scholarship.

This dual-track system gives students more flexibility and options when applying.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the GKS-U 2026 Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a GKS partner country

  • Not hold a bachelor’s degree

  • Meet the required academic performance:

    • CGPA above 2.64 / 4.0

    • CGPA above 2.80 / 4.3

    • CGPA above 2.91 / 4.5

    • CGPA above 3.23 / 5.0

    • Or be within the top 20% of your class

  • Be under 25 years of age

  • Be physically and mentally healthy

  • Have no criminal record

For students awaiting results: A certificate of expected graduation must be submitted at the time of application.
