Berlin University DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2026/27 Details:
- HTW Berlin, the largest university of applied sciences in Berlin, through the DAAD MIDE Scholarship, offers an 18-month full-time Master’s degree programme in “International and Development Economics” (MIDE), taught entirely in English.
- Designed for students from developing and transitional countries as well as from Germany and other developed countries with a special interest in the economic challenges facing “third world” countries, the programme prepares students to work in areas related to global economic affairs and development.
- The Master’s programme in International and Development Economics (MIDE) has been established for students who have a first degree in economics/business administration or in other social sciences with a focus on economics.
Requirements for Berlin University DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2026/27
- To be considered for the DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2026, you must:
- come from a developing country
- have at least two years of professional experience since graduation, but should not have graduated more than six years ago.
- have obtained a first university degree with 180 ECTS (or equivalent).
- have taken at least 15 ECTS in Economics (3 modules in Economics for applicants from abroad).
- meet the English Language requirements for postgraduate study at the university
Benefits of DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2026/27
- The DAAD EPOS Scholarship is one of the DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Scholarships. It covers;
- monthly payments of 934 euros.
- Payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance cover.
- Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding.
- Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive the following additional benefits:
- Monthly rent subsidy
- Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family

- A letter of motivation (max. two pages long), dated and signed by you
- Transcript of records (including CGPA) and degree certificate (s) (official translations into English or German must be provided)
- An explanation of the grading system at your previous university (which is usually already part your transcript and/or the Diploma Supplement).
- CV (Europass format), dated and personally signed by you
- Copy of your passport
- Proof of your English language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS are not required if English was the official language of instruction for the first degree, please supply official proof)
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate that includes the date of graduation from Secondary School.
